Hi Tchad,
Lovely place you have here. I was wondering if you would share your experiences with DAW controllers (ICON D-Control) and Pro Tools, as I am currently trying out an Avid S1 and am a little unsure whether I should keep it.
I like how the S1 makes it easy and quick to adjust volume, pan, sends, etc. It can do other things, but I find that it is often faster and more intuitive with keyboard shortcuts or the mouse. The latter is especially true when adjusting plugins, which results in controllers often ending up as an expensive mouse pad, I guess. It is of course a matter of habit.
I assume you have been using your D-Control for some years, and it is for sure more advanced than the S1. Are you still using it? And is it a big part of your workflow or do you only use it for a few things? Any recommendations?
(I tried inserting EQ and Comp. on every channel to make it feel more like an analog console, but it seems to restrict my creativity for some reason) I hope you are well, and thank you ever so much for your time. Niko.
